dump valve help

When i bought my 2000 v reg classic it had a atmospheric dump valve fitted recently a mate told me this could damage the maf sensor could someone tell me if this true ?

think its induction kits you should avoid m8 all the dump valve is doing is releasing boost pressure when you throttle off it shouldnt make any difference wether it vents to atmosphere or back into the system (just sounds a little loud thats why i returned mine back to standard )

The vent to atmo dump valves can cause a bit of over fuelling when they dump due to some of the air that passes the maf not getting to the engine but that's not really a problem. Some people have had idle problems with a dump to atmo but if your car isn't having any problems idling you should be fine with it on. I've had one on my 95 WRX for 5 years without a problem.

If your going to use a VTA dump valve make sure you use a double piston one, then you will have no problems at idle.
