The lights are generally about £150-200 depending upon whether you go for UK spec of JDM HiD ones. If you go for JDM ones make sure you get the ballasts with them:freak3:

I need to get the plugs from Japan, but I can make the looms for about a tenner delivered to your door. Ask Stalked! about them as he has had a set and Ricco will have his tomorrow. I've not bothered with the leveler circuit as it's not been an issue, specifically at MOT time, but as you have a wagon, you might load it up and have some consideration for other roads users.:thumb:

And what do you mean by 'sourcing aerials'?? Don't you already have one!?
If I were you I'd fit a nice set of wheels and forget the stickers - the Prodrive model is essentially the best looking bugeye they made IMHO :thumb:

The aerials im on about are here either side of scoop which im also fiting :

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...thisonetoo.jpg

The reason why, simply to make it as exact as this picture and the fact the the original subaru aerial ( demister ) is rubbish at best, might work fine with jap airwaves but where i live as much use as a chocolate fire alarm. So it will achieve the look im looking for and ill actually be able to recieve radio stations.

19`s are my coice simply because the originals dont fill the arches and look pants. I was not aware of rubbing issues though :thumb:

Dave beck those snow pictures are mint, especially the reflections off the paint, very nice indeed

Not happy with the stickers though, they are too dark closer to orange imo but ive been told by the lad that fits them that the brighter illuminus ones fade after 3 months, not sure if this is the case, but if i find some that wont fade im going to swap

Cheers Jon, I'd like to be able to level them because like you say, with a full load everyone else on the road will be blinded

Apparently it can be done. I have the wiring diagrams, but the plugs for the levelers are not as easy to get hold of - I'm not sure whether or not Subaru would sell them. If you get the lights from a scrapper you could just cut the plugs off:D The new switch is an almera one which would quite easy to get.

Alternatively, go for self leveling rear suspension:rolleyes:

Pretty easy dude. I put my headlights in the oven for 5 mintues on about 50 degrees. Then split them open with a flathead screwdriver. Pulled out the orange blob thing, put them back together, put clear silicon sealant round the edges of the whole lights and popped them back in the oven for another 5 mins.

Giles the turn round is quick, 10-21 days i think. Just need to get money together :D got a spare £10 to start me off lol

Hopefully be sorted by may

10-21 days huh? That is quick.
I'll lend you a tenner to get you started; interest rate of 29.5% APR sound good? ;)

Seriously though, good luck with it - I note you're flogging some of your carbon parts to finance it - so the carbonator will be no more :( - but at least you'll have what should essentially be a bomb proof motor after this though :D

I've still got some more cash to pay off on my move, but after that I'm thinking I'll visit James and get him to fit my decat, sports cat and STI up pipe and then go see Simon. Hope to have that done around summer time - in the meantime, I'm considering starting to collect bits for a Hawkeye centre console swap.

Got myself a Whiteline rear ARB last week - really is a much better car for it - I now understand why everyone recommends em. One of the best (and cheapest) mods I've done.

Nice looking car, looks a bit lower than I'd expect from teins though. Some biggers wheels to fill the arches next hey:norty:

Cheers mate. Thought about bigger wheels, but the profile on my tires are 40, so might change them to a 45, not much difference I know. Just had them refurbished from gold to the color you see now, so might wait for the bigger wheels, unless a nice set of 18's come up for the right price. :norty:

I had a look at the weekend to see what is involved and it looks fairly easy. The only drama is getting hold of the subaru plugs for the lights, so I'm going for plan B, cut off the factory ones and fit my own 6-way plug.

The new headlight leveler switch is an almera one which looks identical to the subaru one and costs about a tenner on fleabay. The wires (in all the correct colours) cost £12 and all in need then is some convoluted tubing to cover it all. I reckon I could do the whole job for £30-40 but I'll give you an update once it is and working. (after the February half-term):D

It is then another £10-15 for the light loom, and if you come to me I'll fit them for free.

Rice Rocket 27 January 2009 12:14 PM

Sounds good Jon, would be interested in getting this for the lights too.

I'll dig out my camera and do a step by step for it then. I just need to get it through the MOT on Saturday and then I'll start. Switch arrived this morning and I'm expecting the wires tomorrow. I have some spare 6-way connectors in the garage (not as sad as it sounds, I'm an ex-aircraft electrician) and some convoluted tubing, but it may be a little too big. I'll let you know how it goes:norty:

You could probably set up a part-time business doing em Jon! There's a chap in Canada that does the non-adjustable and levelling harnesses but they take months to arrive and the levelling one is fairly dear IIRC - would be good to have a UK source for em.

It has already been suggested:idea: , the only problem being that my time is fairly limited as to when I could do it, especially as the Queen is sending me on a nice holiday for a few months to sunnier climes. I don't have enough personal baggage allowance to take my tools with me to Afghanistan:(
