Gearbox jumping out of reverse!
 

I can reverse slowly off drive for a few metres ok but when reversing for a longer distance and abit faster it just pops out. All other gears are fine anybody else had this problem? and did you just put up with it or get it repaired.

If the box has had any attention recently it could be that the wrong reverse gear has been fitted as there are two types of similar size and they don't mix and match.

Or, it could be wear in the selector system outside the box and in fact the gear is not totally selecting.

Or, the ' BIG NUT ' that holds all the gears together inside could be loosening and will slowly cause a problem in 5th too.

First trick is to get it up in the air and check the linkage. If no problem there then it'll be box ouit and looksee inside.

Thanks for the advise. Sods law it will be the most expensive out of the 3 as well as other problems it has, so i best get saving. Paid 8k for her 3 weeks ago, really hoped i'd get at least 1 months trouble free motoring.
