Got a bottle of this stuff today as a thankyou from someone at work.

Came with a free absinth spoon for the "absinth ritual"

Anyone got any stories about the green stuff? :D

Funnily enough i usually forget the night before after i have touched the green stuff:D

Anyway thats the %55 gay version,you need the %75 stuff .That will put hairs on yer chest and Cirrhosis on the liver

Theres a little place in Altrincham that does some mad Belgian Beers, called 'le Trappiste' (you have to book a table its that popular) , they do several versions, I have tried them all up to the strongest and its wonderful, if the beer doesnt do the trick then you soon get tuned in after one of those, at 5 quid a shot its pricey though !

I bought a bottle from France a year or so ago and was dissapointed having heard so much about it, it was just Pernod type stuff, you need to get the real gear.

If you live near Altrincham, give this place a try.

Mate got some proper 77% volume Absinthe a couple of years back.

Mixed it with suger, and lit the shots - apparently the way to drink it.

The stuff is WAY too strong IMO - like drinking acid!!! Cant do tjhe internals any good at all!

Had my first ever Absinthe in Prague. We were waiting for out hotel rooms (11:00am) and made the mistake of forcing another mate to get the beers in. He got everyone a pint of lager and me and him an absinthe. 10 minutes later, he'd puked the lot up over thesofas in the lobby. We had been drinking since 3:30am in Manchester Airport, though :D

Place to go is the Absinth bar in Barcelona - mad mad place.

Had a party at my flat few years ago, someone came back from Prague with a bottle of 75% stuff. I had one shot, burnt my throat out, like petrol with a hint of listerine, had another shot and started feeling a bit merry, after four, or was it five...can't remember, but I was getting quite pissed. In the morning, I found myself waking up on the floor of my bedroom in my own sick and felt like cattle stampead had went over me. Found the bottle in the washing machine, apparently guests had to hide the bottle from me as I already had about 3/4 of the bottle, only a few others had a shot. I couldn't eat or drink for over 2 days, took me about a week to fully recover...Never again!!! Can't remember a thing but did have some interesting photos!!!

woke up in hospital 1 morning i'd broken my leg 2 ribs and had alcohol poisoning, last thing i remember is lookin into a shot glass for the umpteenth time and seeing green stuff.... cannot remember a thing after that and still don't know what happened.

and no i didn't have a sore ar$e or a rolled up fiver behind my ear

Was drinking it in a bar in Ibiza with mates and suddenly realised a mate in our group wasn't with us anymore?!? Spotted him being led/carried/dragged down the road and into a car by Two muscle mary type gayers and grabbed a girl we were chatting to to go rescue him with her playing part of distraught GF to make the rescue a bit easier. Took him back to hotel, he didn't remember any of it when he woke up and didn't believe us. Ungrateful sod, next time we'll leave him to get a sore bum.

Had 9 shots of it on the first night of my stag do in Prague back in 03, god I was rough that night :D

I had a triple of the 75% stuff at a BBQ once, was standing drinking a glass of wine about 5 mins later and just fell over backwards onto the floor giggling.

I was banned in Britain for ages. Something to do with toxins from the wormwood that the liqueuer is flavoured with. :)

I nearly torched my kitchen; was doing the flaming sugar cube thing all night, eventually all the spillage on the surface caught light.

In between laughing our heads off, the best we could manage was blowing on it; we'd get right to the end of the surface, then run out of breath. At which point the tiny remaining bit of flame would ignite the whole thing again.

Happy days... :D

Green Stuff??? Proper Absynth is blue!!

Got two litres of 77% green stuff at home. We drink it with the sugar for added effect. Ended up going twos on 400ml the other night drinking it in whisky tumblers , the day after wasn't as fun as it could have been. Soon gets you in the party mood though, shame its only a vague memory :lol1:

Sister used to work in the wine trade and got me some of the really strong stuff, did the bottle with two mates one night then went out - woke up the next day in the spare room in bed with my then girlfreinds mate who was topless and my girlfriend was standing at the door!

Never did get out of that one...

I found some Cannabis Absnthe in an offy in Tenerife (Damn, I sound like a chav!) which I was tempted to try but didn't fancy my chances of getting it home.

Had a bit of an absinthe session with a good friend of mine ,cant remember too much but i woke up in a cell:freak3: .This happened a few times ,im teetotal now:D

Tastes awful, but in a strange way I used to like drinking it. Esp before a night out with the boys over. Always got everyone in the mood :)

I used to get my supplies from Andorra, when visiting, picking up bottle of the good stuff for £3 a bottle. The mark-up some of the suppliers charge to us crazy English folk is unreal!

Brought a bottle back from prague and after the pub one night drank about 1/2 of it, I remember watching TV and it was dissapearing into the distance.

Woke up with one of the worst hangovers I've ever had, wouldn't recommend it.
