Fake Prodrive Sports Cats
 

I had a prodrive sports cat downpipe fitted to my 03 WRX yesterday, together with a centre piece.

The centre piece was 2nd hand and the downpipe was new but bought cheap because the chap never got around to fitting it. The downpipe had a serial number on it beginning with SE.

Anyway, had mass load of trouble fitting all together as either the downpipe or centre pipe was too short. In the end with a lot of head scratching, managed to get it fitted with about 3mm clearance between the back box and the subframe.

So I'm wondering, is the downpipe fake, I think the centre piece is legit as it is well used, anyway, anyone know of fakes going around????

Arn't some centre section different lengths for different MY car?? thought the new age was different to the classic etc

i had a new sports cat ( down pipe ) on my 03 sti and its was 6 inches too short so i had to fit a classic centre section because there are longer

Up to MY06 hawkeyes, UK newage cars had 4 exhaust sections (centre section was really a 2 piece item) after the turbo but JDM cars only had 3 (downpipe was much longer than UK item).
Have you mixed up various types to fit it?
