Spilt oil

I've just changed the oil in my EVO, and the damn sump plug fell into the funnel I was using, which resulted in the the funnel overflowing and spilling oil all over my drive :(

I've wiped most of it up with old towels etc, but theres still a very slippery film of oil left on the drive.

Can anyone recommend the best way to clean it up ?

cheers

I changed the oil on my 106 Rallye the other thursday, and got *some* oil on the drive, i just got some Fairy liquid, and boiled water, poured it on, scrubbed it with a yard brush, then hose off! Viola! no more oil :D

If it's a alot of oil: Brush some Sand in to it, to suck most of it up. Then shovel it up and dispose of it (ecologically - if your a lentil muncher;) ). Then do the fairy liquid trick as above

Depends what the drive is made of: Wickes do a thing called "Paintbrush Cleaner" which is a blue liquid, and a VERY good degreaser.

I've got oil off block paving and cement with it, and it flushes away with water, being water soluble.
DON'T use it on bitumen/tarmac though.

I've always found that clothes washing powder or liquid is better than washing up liquid when removing oil....still use hot water though. :)
