Depends on what you want to do m8 ?
If its just for your music back ups ,record dx is a good program.
If its for your dvd back ups dvd decryptor is good.

I ant to take a bunch of NTSC DV 720x486 16:9 1.2 aspect ration widescreen video and author a DVD disc with it. Full menu control 16:9 video menu backdrops, etc...

Any ideas ?

if you want the dogs bollox then adobe premiere. very steep learning curve but excellent results. for something a bit easier then i would recommend dvdlab pro. i have used this and have got some excellent results. it will do all that you want and more. i even managed to get motion menus and motion chapter stops. multiple vts means you can string together all those small porno clips into one movie :D

I use Adobe premiere pro and encore dvd. Both give excellent results, but they aren't cheap...

Adobe premiere here as well, nice timeline based workflow and drag and drop file system :thumb:
