My vehicle plate (under the bonnet by the left side suspension), has the Applied Model Code GF8GK8D. I cant figure this out from the list on the FAQ. My car is a 99MY wagon, but the code appears to indicate MY00 (G in position 4). Also what does the K in poition 5 mean). The FAQ says that this should be 2, 4 or 5 to indicate the number of doos. So K ???

Also, does anyone have a listing of the other five codes on the plate:

Trim code
Engine type
Option code
Color
Transmission type

The list on the FAQ is for the Japanese versions only. Has anybody got a list for the rest of the world then?

Cheers,

Wrexy.

I too would like to know where I can see a list of engine type codes. There is confusion over what I have at the moment. My car is lited as both a sti RA and wrx RA. I have sti seats, centre diff, water spray and roof vents.

Ah Ha!! So the codes on the FAQ are for Japanese cars, and that explains why the code for my (UK) car is not listed. But if there are codes published for the Japanese cars, then why not for the rest of the world ? Has no-one got a list ? What about all you dealers and importers out there - surely someone must know ??
