replacement wheel nuts

yes did a search, but all the sites listed either are not trading anymore or dont do what I want.
I dont want ones from a subaru main dealer.

so my locking wheel nuts are great and look fine, but the standard tapered nuts are corroded and looking shabby, so want to replace them with either chrome, stainless steel or zinc plated ones. basically i need them to last a long time, be good looking, fit my wheels (rota GRAII ) and not cost a fortune.
Tall order??
anyone have any bright ideas.

thx

BLACK V5 23 March 2006 02:03 PM

Only ones iv seen are alloy ones at www.scoobyparts.com But there black so not really what your after.

SwissTony 23 March 2006 02:07 PM

kinda guessed someone would come up with those :(
sorry should have been clearer..
those black ones are meant to be anodized aluminium and lighter.
Borrocks !! they are flimsy as hell, the black wears off the second you put a wrench to them and they look rubbish.

no what i need is good quality shiney ones, like you get with the car when new, but not at dealer prices. i am guessing that ebay is my first avenue??

demon tweeks dont seem to do the magnex ones, just the lockers..

Kevins nuts look ok to me :Suspiciou and I've got some pictures of his wheels on my pc at home I'll see if one shows the nuts up clear. Mine are tarnised as well so I know what yours look like.... I'll text kev to see if he remembers how much they cost and get back to you later.

Sorry, but I'll have to completely disagree. You obviously havn't used these bolts before.

I've had a full set on my wagon for 3 months now, had wheels off a few times for various reasons and they DO NOT flake in the slightest....! Do you really think they would charge 2.35 each if they were crap.......?!

I suggest you give them a try before you slag them off, oh, and they only weigh a few grams each so you get at least another 2bhp per nut...;)

Si.

skoosh..
ok maybe i wasnt clear in my post, if i wasnt then sorry
but yes i did have these on my wheels. i am speaking from personal experience so no conjecture here :) its just my opinion of course but i felt they were too lightweight for the job, flaked or scratched far too easily and were not worth the money. its just my opinion amongst thousands maybe and i wasnt slagging off any supplier..just what i found plain and simple.

thx for all the replies, i think i have all the info i needed so cheers guys :thumb:
