7bhp extra?? just for removin a belt??
 

iv bin told by a local garage, where my car is curently in loads of bits lol! that by removing my air con belt i can increase the bhp by approx 7bhp?? is this true and has anyone else dun this?? Cheers Craig....

Anything that places a load on the engine will sap power. Aircon does so you will gain a small amount of power.Personally I wouldn't bother....

The A/C compressor free wheels when not in use so it wont really make a squat of difference if you dont drive around with your A/C on all the time.

think ive read on here that when on boost the a/c also freewheels so that it will not sap power then either...... if so its a win win situation,no power loss as such,and a cool cabin for the one day of the year when its hot enough to use the air con

aircon switches off on full throttle IIRC
