Superleggera 17x8 ET 35 - Will they fit a Forester?

This has been going on a long time, but I want to fit Silver Superleggera 17x7 to my Forester. Previously the OZ fitment chart came up with only,

17x8ET35

I was sure ET 48 is required.

The only OZ territory which replied to my emails was the US. They gave me a special part number for 17x7ET48 (SL770C48). Great!

So I gave it to the OZ importer here in Hungary. His response, no idea what this number is! However, they can supply 17x8ET35 i.e. this is their fitment data for the Forester. Full circle.

Can anybody confirm is 17x8ET35 will fit my Forester(SF5-MY2000)?

They may well bolt on and clear the arches as the wheels don't move up that far but they will be well outside the arches. Not sure about where you are but here that's illegal. The offset is that far out that it'll be horrible to drive as well with really bad tramlining.

Hi Mike,

I was hoping you would reply :) (after doing a forum search and seeing your input.)

I have had this argument with OZ suppliers here before and I thought that by supplying the part number the problem is solved. I will not be going for their recommendation. Seems they only want to sell the stock they have in the warehouse.

I had noticed that http://www.performancealloys.com state free International delivery, so I have emailed them for a quote (if they really do offer free delivery to Hungary - there are always exceptions.)

I also emailed prodrive to see if they have a distributor in Hungary for the p7(?). However, I am guessing from experience that even if there is, the local price will be way way over the odds.

Thanks, Pieter

Obviously Hungary does not fall into the Category of "Free Delivery to a Major Country" as performancealloys want GBP 92 extra to deliver to Hungary (remember the UK list price already has a delivery element built in.) In reality it is not that bad, I just wish they would not put on their website "Free International Delivery"...

I just thought I would close this topic with the info.

Thanks.
