Accounts Software...

OK So I need the 'SN' consensus if I may ;) I need to create some extract software from a few of the most popular accounting software packages out
there so what do you/your company use if you know?

Lee247 21 March 2006 07:54 PM

I use Sage and Pegasus, so which do you want me to tick :)

SiDHEaD 21 March 2006 09:00 PM

We use Sage!

MadGrip 21 March 2006 11:36 PM

another vote for sage :)

midget1500 22 March 2006 08:16 AM

we use sage (large multinational...)

we do dabble with the others but sage is the best all round at the level you want

Huxley Chick 22 March 2006 08:48 AM

I used to use Sage, but then switched to TAS, which I think is much more versatile (although it's owned by Sage, strangely enough) :)

T4molie 22 March 2006 09:28 AM

Erm t'other for me as we use Oracle Financials :D

OllyK 22 March 2006 09:33 AM

At home I use MS Money, at work, we use the system we wrote ourselves.

NO probs, btw 84 is it pegasus cap gold? I actually prefer cap gold to line 50 but it seems that everyman and his dog uses Sage.

Cheers

Gary

Lee247 22 March 2006 07:10 PM

Yes, it's Capital Gold, but I must admit, I like Sage Line 50 just as well.
Lesley :)

If you guys need any help getting stuff in/out let me know, I used to work for Pegasus and be on the cap gold dev programme, Im currently on the sage developer programme so tend to do lots of data transfer stuff for the entire range of products (50/100/MMS/500)

garyk - working on some sage payroll integration in .net here for the first time. you have any decent sample code? obviously there is the usual help file stuff but looking to import from .csv etc.

GaryK 23 March 2006 10:49 AM

typical heh! I have done everything but payroll integration! Give me a couple of hours though I maybe able to get some code from the devs forum.

Cheers

Anyone heard Of MYOB (mind your own business) we use it and our accountants who use sage can find nowt wrong with even if it is a bit cheap and cheerful

TonyFlow 23 March 2006 12:54 PM

midget1500 23 March 2006 02:46 PM

garyk - me too!

just knocked up some csv -> payroll employee data

just need to get some payment data in

Daniel-S 23 March 2006 02:54 PM

Hello lads

Me dad said that if you're are familiar with book-keeping/accounts,SAGE is the standard:notworthy

Then QuickBooks is good,but if book-keeping/accounts aren't you're thing:cuckoo:

Kashflow is really good

http://www.kashflow.co.uk/ :)

GaryK 23 March 2006 03:19 PM

midget, what version are you running? Later versions use Access so you can just get to the data using ADO/MDAC. Are you on the developer programme? If not let me know, apparently the MDB is password protected but if you phone Sage dev support they will tell you what the password is. If not I can phone em.

Gary
