It's a choice now between Amsterdam in 2 weeks time, or this........
One in a lifetime experience of wait till next year when the car is settled and go for it then.....:wonder:

alloy 16 March 2006 11:45 AM

I'm looking to do it this year. Its not a bad price either :norty:

Tripple'O G 16 March 2006 11:47 AM

No not a bad price at all and i've already got myself a second driver if I do go.......i'm just thinking it's gonna be a rush to get the car ready....unless I take another gearbox in the boot :norty:

Is it?

I went last year and spent £1000, which included travel, accom, food, beer, 4 tanks of fuel there and back, plus 6 1/2 tanks of fuel on track and 36 lap ticket (approx £350). (I actually did 39 laps, had some tickets given to me.)

I would be interested if there was a bit more info on the site, along with some pictures from last years event. Seems a bit limited, one page on a web site....

Well £700 covers two people 3 nights accomodation in a 4/5 star hotel, two full days on the track, return ferry, reunion track day at cadwell park and a final night party...... I din't think £350 each was a bad price

Tripple'O G 16 March 2006 12:11 PM

Yeah but add petrol etc it will come to over £1000 fella, thats what he's saying.....

Fair enough you can split it between to but you're gonna be looking at more like £600 at the end of it......

What’s Included

Return ferry crossings
3 nights luxury accommodation
Breakfasts
Route cards
2 Track days at the Nurburgring (public days)*
‘Nurburgring 700 Christmas Reunion’ track day at Snetterton (Sun 3 Dec)
Final night evening meal, party and presentation, where various awards will be handed out
* Please note the funds for the 2 day Nurburgring circuit passes will be given to each participant on Saturday morning. That way you can either purchase the passes for both days (works out cheaper) or pay for 1 lap at a time. This format ensures that if anybody gets a little intimidated by their first encounter with the 'Ring (it happened last year) they are free to use the remainder of the money as they see fit. But they should expect a little ribbing from the other drivers!

What’s not Included

Fuel
Toll fees
Fine charges
Insurance
Personal expenses, including lunch, drinks, Armco repair, massage, etc

I may be wrong, but I cant see the Nurburgring offering an "unlimited day pass" to the circuit. From how its worded, it sounds like the organisers are going to give you x amount of cash back to buy x amount of lap tickets.

This makes the £1000 I spent, including the paid for 36 laps, much more attractive, unless there is going to be more media coverage or entertainment on their trip.

To me, it just seems like quite a few "cannonball run" type trips springing up and this one based on one page, does not quite float my boat! :D

But if anyone goes on it I wish them all the best and have a cracking time :thumb:

PS Its late, but I don't remember paying a toll fee's on the drive to the ring...

I'm gonna be up for up for that.
Got my co driver sorted :thumb:
