Crash just outside school

http://www.scoobysmacs.co.uk/ibin/DSC00150.JPG

Just rounded the corner in my car after work to pick the kids up from school, when I'm confronted by this sight :eek2:

No idea how the chap driving managed to get into that position, but he was in a bad way, with 2 ambulances, 1 fire engine, 1 emergency doctor, 1 traffic police volvo and 2 patrol cars in attendance when I left after getting the kids.
A witness, who was sat in her car waiting also, says he came past her driving erratically, with a "crazy grin on his face" weaving all over the road. Oh dear! Another 15 minutes, and that road would be full of kids in cars with parents :(

I've searched the local news sites, but found nothing about it,

chris.

stilover 13 March 2006 11:24 PM

And a kid about to be flattened by an artic !!!!!!

mshill 13 March 2006 11:29 PM

feckin idiots!
i have kids myself, would'nt bear thinking about, with nutters like that driving around.
there is a time and a place for puttin the foot down, certainly not anywhere near a school or even a 30 limit.
Hope he does'nt make a speedy recovery!

The Chief 14 March 2006 12:02 AM

Agreed!!! putting your foot down in open countryside is fair enough - if no one else can get hurt - driving like a tw@t in built up area's is bang out of order - i hope they throw the book at him!!!

scooby_matt 14 March 2006 08:57 AM

How's he ended up there?!

richs2891 14 March 2006 09:03 AM

nice, what was that car ? Looks a straight road, How do you get a car into that postion ?
Would be nice if their liscence was revoked but I'll bet it wont happen

I'm sure the accident had nothing to do with the fact that there were 50 "second car drivers" parked on the double yellows and cross-hatchings, all waiting to pick little Jonny up from school, all concentrating 100% on their driving as they "indicate" and pull out "safely" into the traffic. :brickwall

Or maybe the driver was just a nutter.

Rich

:freak3:

Have to say i drive slowly past the school on the estate i live on if its in school time, if its near kicking out time i don't go above 10mph, have some right stroppy mothers picking up kids cos of me going so slowly, some of them drive like nutters, paying no attention to right of way, going way to fast with no chance of stopping if a kid ran out.
to roll a car like that must have been going at a rate, and right out side a school, what a complete numpty

[Davey] 14 March 2006 10:26 AM

Blimey! I hope they string the f*cker up!

10mph?? A LITTLE extreme? Maybe you should have more faith in the kids, i.e. that they are not so damn stupid they will run out infront of a car doing 30mph. (Darwin anyone??)

wanna bet? seen some kids just run straight out no looking no waiting, rather go slow as fook and get home ten seconds (cos that all the difference it makes) later and make sure i don't hit any, than have to live with hurting one.

Actually no it didn't. The road in question is straight from behind that picture, going downhill to a staggered left and right junction a bit further down. Very little traffic parked up either side, as there's a big church carpark to stop in :D
The driver was a nutter/heart attack/bee sting victim I think we can safely assume :)

Load of bees about this time of year! Must have been that :D

;)

complete moron alert me thinks, 18yr old chav showing off to the school girls or is it not a secondry school?

Mungo 14 March 2006 01:08 PM

I came across a rolled car once - god knows how they'd turned it over on a straight road... (was on the main road from Staines to Thorpe if any one knows it). There are some seriously crap drivers out there.

Maybe you should have a word with the school?? or maybe the parents?? If kids are running out in the road they need a talking to!

Primary school, and it was only 3 pm, so school was still in session, drunk or drugs is the best explanation.

cw42 15 March 2006 08:12 AM

Turns out it was a suspected heart attack :( Bloke apparently not taken his pills.

wrc350bhp 15 March 2006 08:59 AM

he shouldnt be driving full stop then.

scooby_matt 15 March 2006 09:02 AM

He still has a responsibility to reduce the chance of having a heart attack, as he obviously knows there are potential risks of one if he's taking medication for it.

I hope the guy's ok, but in my book, his actions are on a par with drink driving

Don't underestimate the stupidity of kids...just yesterday I was responding to an incident on blue and twos. A group of kids looked around a noticed my bright yellow ambulance lit up like a christmas tree (and loud as hell - it has a seriously funky siren). One of them decided to wait until I got closer and jumped in front of me with arms out stretched! I was tempted to run the little nob over as he liked the ambulance so much.
