Tinted windows?
Pics of imprezas with tinted windows please guys and wt the tint levels are?
|
Not sure of the %age, but its the 1 tint less than 'limo'.....way,way too dark
https://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...5/535261a1.jpg Completely takes all the fun out of driving backwards;) |
|
I got medium tints all round as i personally don't like having the back windows tinted and the fronts not.
THey are 30% tints - so just on the verge of being illegal, but they look good IMHO. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b4...y/9fb53590.jpg Dave |
heres mine, with a before and after..
not entirely sure of the %, but thinks its 35 on the back and rear with 30 on the front and 35 on the sunstrip. could be wrong, but silver scooby sport might point you in the right direction as he had similar done to mine. the pictures dont really give you a great view, but you get the idea :) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...beforeset4.jpg |
mine not sure on % but they are deffo illegal

Why run with tints on fronts, knowing that they can invalidate your insurance?
|
Because people dont know/care I suppose.
Pull out on someone from a junction with tints on your front windows, and you could face a large settlement claim when your insurance company voids your policy. concerned dipster. |
laod of crap

I want 30 % on mine all round to but Im afraid to say that the law has now changed to a max of 13% infront of the A pillar.
|
No idea on the percentage, I just asked for darker on the back than on the front and I got this:

Front windows should allow at least 70% light through. If you are within that limit then you'll be fine. Bearing in mind the legislation changed because a motorcyclist was deemed to have been killed, in part due to the limited vision the car driver had due to tinted windows. The law makes sense and I cant say I sympathise with those who choose to break it. Bob |
fair point bob, my car is within the laws and was carried out by the market leader on auto glass? it just seems that as soon as someone posts on SN about some mod etc, everyone jumps on and gives false info ref: if you have front tints then you are breaking the law!!!!. instead of giving the actual max tints you are alowed,
|
|
can someone tell me if it's very dificult to put the tint in the rear glass? thanks
|
I personally would not attempt to do it myself.... The place that did mine still managed to break my rear screen ( I have the rear wiper in the glass ) when they removed it for tint, and they do it for a living.
|
are these too drk?

I think it's nice and the scooby lowered like that looks great.
|
Here's mine.
Pretty sure it's illegal as the fronts are as dark as the rears. I bought the car like that and haven't got round to removing the fronts. Shame really, but the point about insurance is well taken. Must do that this week :( |
like I asked before, do you really need to remove the rear glass or you can remove only the rack where you install the speakers?
looks good MS, how is the visibility? |

I'm only concerned that people could get in deep trouble, if someone got injured or god forbid killed. My worry is that as Scoobs and most new cars today have a tint in the side glass from the factory, then adding even a 30% WILL make your car illegal with the hassle this brings if you have a serious accident. I will keep my concerns to myself in the future. Dipster. |
