Rover 218 OEM Immobiliser
Id be grateful if anyone could tell me how to over ride (permantently) the OEM immobiliser on a Feb 1995 Rover 218 TD. The owner doesnt have the keystroke code to manually turn it off and even with a new CR2032 battery its taking 15 minutes to deactivate.
Thanks in advance Simon |
What a first-rate piece of moderating eh?

IFAIK no can do,
my wife suffered the same, we cured it by the following the manual method to temp overide must be entered everytime you want to use the car, it can be obtained from rover specialists via your chassis number. we replaced the battery in the fob (you can get replacements) new car battery and some other methods i wont discuss on a n open board. pm for more info preloved classics is a good place to look to Mart |
As mart says it isn't possible but you can use the KAC (key access code) in the drivers door lock but this is everytime you open the car, this should be on the Kerridge system that dealers use (not sure which dealers anymore) - Honda Concertos were built using a lot of the same parts as the 200 Rovers so maybe a Honda dealer can reprogram the remote?

Despite the car having a full service book it doesnt have the small tag with the key access code on it....
Thankyou both for your help; if we cant get the correct code off the VIN then I will see what mart has up his sleeve... :) Simon |
