02 Audi 1.8T (163) Quattro Remap Experiences Please

Just bought the above on behalf of my brother. He loves it to bits but as you can imagine 163 through the Quattro 4x4 system saps the power a tad. This car is mint with all the toys and would be great with a little get up and go.

On Saturday we had a free trial (5 hours driving time) of the Revo remap from an outlet in Darlington. The guy reconned on about 205 bhp? and it totally transformed the car seemed to go really well. After the free trial automatically reverts back to fatory you really miss the power thus this is a great marketing tool for Revo. you now just WANT to buy it.

However I was ondering if there are any other guysor girls out there with experiences of tuning this engine/ecu and where to go? We live up in Durham near Newcastle so tuners nearby would be a bonus.

ps anyone know of a 4x4 rolling road tuner in the area as we would prefer to have a map taylor made for this particular car rather than a generic map.

Many thanks

Just go back every day in disguise and get a free trial :D

How do they do the 5 hour limit?

I did notice there is a guy on ebay that offers the remaps on the VAG stuff for £200 buy it now, and he auctions the offer too and it sometimes goes for less. He was in Birmingham.

I think the revo maps for the 1.8T was tailor made for that engine although Ive heard of the 1.8 T being capable of 220bhp after a remap.

The 1.8T can be taken a long way - up to nearly 400bhp if you spend enough. A simple remap can take you up to 215/220 bhp. My Octavia vRS has 231 bhp and 251 lbf on a remap, Miltek 200 cel cat and downpipes and a Supersprint exhaust. It's very driveable, with a torque curve like Table Mountain! Torque comes in when the turbo starts to boost at about 1850 rpm and doesn't tail off until approaching 6000 rpm. I had the work done by Star Performance in Fife http://www.starperformance.co.uk :):)

PS they have a 4wd rolling road

I've been looking at this for my S4 (haven't had it a week yet!!:D) - the power gains from the Revo are immense (310Bhp with 400lb/ft torque!!) For about £600.

Don't know of any local rr's from you though sorry :(

Hi
Had an Octavia vRS.
This was mapped by Jabbasport - near Peterborugh.
They did a great job and really know the 1.8T engines - as fitted to Audi, VW, Skoda, Seat etc.

Cheers!

These guys are the only people you should look at for VAG tuning...http://www.mrctuning.co.uk/

Especially for B5 A4/S4. Minhea (the remap guy) maps the car while you drive so as to match the remap to your style of driving. Just had my B5 S4 remapped after adding Bosch Motorsport Fuel Pump and 600cc injectors to go with the K04s and full milltek exhaust. Car flies after the remap (410 BHP).
