New Group Buy - Exedy Performance Organic clutch - 230mm

That nice man David at API has given me the green light to organise another Group Buy on the Exedy uprated clutch.

Note this is for the 230mm version (240mm for six speed gearboxes is on another thread).

(Following text lifted from Smurf2k's post of last year - apologies)

The Cost of the clutch is £250 + VAT = £293.75
This is a full clutch:
Clutch Friction Plate
Pressure Plate
Release Bearing

There is also an option to buy a lightened Flywheel the cost of this £120 + VAT + £50 surcharge = £191 (The surcharge is refunded once API receive your old flywheel API also pay the carrige for the return)

API Will also fit your clutch (and flywheel) for £200 + VAT = £235
Fitting price includes Gearbox oil change.

Any combination of the above is acceptable.

Minimum Required is 5 people.

I'll put my name down:

1) Spender - Clutch, flywheel and fitting.

COUNT ME IN

Hi m8

Count me in, I have a 1998 JDM WRX TypeR it is already fitted with a Cusco Hyper single clutch and light weight fly wheel. (I have previously been in contact with David at API).

Put me down for an organic clutch that can handle up to 400 bhp I will need to speak to David when the clutch is in bits, ref skimming of another fly wheel. I had a rebuild last year and the fly wheel was okay then smooth and not damage.

Regards

Scoobydawg

How long will this GB run for?

APIDavid 10 March 2006 04:32 PM

On the face of it a couple of weeks looking at the response. Rely upon it remaining open for March. Closes on the 31st.

You'll need to pay me the VAT and then we will refund it once we have proof of export to St Lucia. We've been caught out by C&E doing VAT free jobs in the past and now we have to follow the rules.

Harrygreen,

you'll have to phone David at API tomorrow and order it.
If he's got one in stock, and I'm sure he will have, it'll get sent out to you pretty quickly.

Same goes for Scoobydawg, phone David and place your order.

Are the cluches in this GB different to the ones on this website:

http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts_detail.asp?id=308&cat=55&sub=0&type=&partsTy pe=&partsKey== ??

I'll be needing to order a new clutch in the next few weeks to go on my STi5, whats the difference between the ones on the web site compared to the ones in the GB etc?

cheers

I can't speak for what Import Car Parts sells. The Exedy organic performance clutch that we sell is well proven and even yesterday { yeah I know it was Sunday ] Bob Rawle and I mapped a 2.5 conversion that APi've recently completed, at: 450/450 according to his Delta Dash.

No judder, no slip just perfect launches and upshifts. A first for 'our' clutch as l have previously only claimed safe at 400 / 400.

If what you read here suits your needs then just get on the list,

Good Luck All - David

APIDavid 13 March 2006 09:30 AM

Looks like we have at least 5 here. If you all care to PM me with phone numbers where we can reach you, we'll get on with bookings for the fitting jobs and mail order for the others.

Thanks guys.

Ozzy, bare in mind that not all Exedy clutches are equal; they do direct non-uprated replacements for scoobies. Perfectly good, but not as capable as the organic, uprated ones. At that price, I'd seriously doubt that this was the same clutch as the one available in the GB. I took part in an API GB for the 5 speed clutch kit and someone posted a similar offer and queried the price, subsequent inspection revealed that it was, indeed, not the uprated clutch at all.

You get what you pay for. This clutch will be good for the figures David has indicated, is nicer than the OEM unit to use and banishes judder etc... It's also at a very good price.

Bigbrakes, you've been added to the list but all you have to do is phone David at API and arrange a date for the work to be done. His number appears on his username details. Be sure to mention the latest group buy on here. David checks in regularly anyway so he'll be expecting your call.

For info, just because the GB ends at the end of the month doesn't mean you have to wait until then, orders can be placed now!!!!
