I am considering buying a disklok, but first have a couple of questions which I was seeking advice. First I have read there offer the product in different sizes. Small fits upto 39cm diameter. Will this fit a MY01 standard momo wheel. Anyone know the cheepest place to buy one. £79.99 from thier own website with free bag. Anyone know of a better deal.

I got the small one, and fits over my MOMO steering wheel in MY98 Terzo. Sounds like a good deal, I got mine from Halfords .. and have sent for the bag, which is an extra £5.99 .. not much in it, but a better deal none the less.

The small one fits the MY01. Got the silver one with free bag direct from their web site.

Go for the small one off of there web site the only way you will get it cheaper is going to a show my mate bought his at trax £50.00

Silver "looks" great, but the thief CANT MISS seeing your bright yellow one!!

Do you buy it for looks or as a deterent??? Then surely YELLOW is the best advertisment of "ive got a bloody great DISKLOK" for a would be thief.

By the way - get a "record" bag (sort DJ's use to carry 12" discs with funky logo on) and it just fits in and then wedges under the passenger seat and doesnt move about!!!

I am also looking at the Autolok at £58 from Argos etc, it gave better test results from Thatchem, has any body used one?

Rev's did an attack test on certain mechanical immobilisers, the disklok came top with nearly 19mins for survival (the guy who attacked them was a police (or ex police) speciallist and lock smith) the auto lock lasted just under 4 mins, nothing came close to the disklok....
actually nothing withstood over 5 mins except the disklok!!

Intresting to read Revs test, on the test I was looking at the Disklok lasted just over 4 mins , while the Autolok lasted over 5mins and they gave up,just wana buy the right one 4 my new motor next week,I wana get my hands on them if they try nicking this one!

Has any body got any experience of either the Disklok or Autolok, ie mounting , attempted theft etc with one on?Cheers

I have the Autolok 2000t. Easy to put on, take off - nobody has tried to pinch it yet! For a long time earlier in the year Sainsbury's Homebase were inexplicably selling them for £37 instead of the usual £60 - it could be worth a quick look before purchasing to see if they still have them. No fancy bags or anything its just a bloody big lump of yellow metal which I leave on the floor when not in use.

Just checked that out but look at it this way, no good thief would ever do that to a lock (unless it just snaps) as you wouldnt be able to drive the car, also you wouldnt be able to swing a heavy hammer that well in the confined space of a car!!
It depends how they tested it at the end of the day but having both the halfords lock (2000t) and a disklok i prefer the disklok :D

Just read some important information clarifying the Autolok vs Disclok tests. AutoExpress do a comprehensive test each year. In last years test it later came to light that the Disclok they tested had a faulty component meaning it didn't last long, although this year a "proper" one lasted 4-5 mins which was the best by some way. Meanwhile they have discovered a hard to spot weakness in the Autolok that was not previously known, so whilst it lasted 5 minutes last year it could only survive 38 mins this year. The Halfords lock which is basically a rebadged Autolok suffered the same fate at 34 seconds.

Don't know whether it's too late for you. Bought a Disklok for my MY01 WRX. If you've got a Costco near you and know someone with a card currently on offer for £46.00, any colour as long as it's yellow.

If anyones interested in a disklok from Costco im popping down this weekend. Thanks for the info madman

Got mine from the Trafford Park branch in Manchester but I would imagine they all stock them.

Bought it a month ago when they first came in, was in there on Wednesday and stocks are dwindling so be quick

OT: Just so you guys know, a traffic bobby I know told me of an Impreza he chased last week....

The Impreza kept stopping, waiting for the T5 to catch up , then shooting off again. BUT, when the T5 came round this particular corner, the Impreza was donutting in the middle of the road.

When they managed to stop the car, they found a 15 year old kid steering 1-handed. His front seat passenger was changing gear for him. Where was the driver's other hand? Holding a 50p piece in the steering assembly in order to stop the steering lock engaging!!! The b@$T@** had been goading whilst drving like this! Only when the lock finally engaged did they get caught. :(

btw - the Autolok (the one that only covers half the wheel) failed a second set of test. Its got a flaw that wasn't obvious in the first lot of tests.

The disklock (the silver one) Came up trumps. The second generation of these have also been uprated, and outlast a determined thief. (or so Autoexpress say)
