Got a Clarion ARX8570Rz radio/casstte + 6 disc changer fitted in the blackbeast

Great bit of kit, just one problem and that is that the backlight color of the buttons on the unit are red, and the instrumentation of the scooby is in green, thus I'd quite like to change the backlight color of the buttons on the head unit to be green, but I'll be buggered if I can find out how to do it. I used to have an old clarion unit which would allow you to change the illumination from green to orange, but from what I can see the new units don't allow you to change the illumination color.

I've read through the manual and played with the settings but I can't find anything to allow the illumination of the buttons to be changed. Yes, I can change the prisim key color (off, pattern 1 or pattern 2) but that's about it.

So,

can I change it? if so then how? where does it say it in the manual.

sorry for the daft question.

Markus,

This is how you carry out the color change for a Clarion ARX7170R.

The illumination color can be switched between green and amber.

1 Press the ADJ button.

2 Use the up and down buttons to select GENERAL, then press the ENT button.

3 Use the left and right buttons to select ILLUM.

4 Use the up and down buttons to select COLOR 1 or COLOR 2.

The illumination turns green when COLOR 1 is selected and amber when COLOR 2 is selected.

5 Press the ADJ button.

Trust this may be of some help.

All the best,

John Catlin.

thanks guys, but it don't work on the ARX8570Rz. My old clarion, god knows the model number, worked exactly as you say, but it's no go on the new one, don't have the utility option. You press the 't' button and then have things like, ex preout, dimmer level, prisim key, etc... everything except illumination color, so maybe it cannot be done?
