I appreciate threads like this ......

Lots of readers seem to think that they need to spend loads of money to get decent stuff

Now, my original pads are on 67,000miles, so I can safely say that I am not hard on my braking ...... £19 pads would be perfect for me (even if they last 1/2 as long - that will take the car beyond 100,000miles!)

All Pads have to be EU Reg90 approved anyway :D

Some are paying £50+ for pads!! :D :D :D Funny what the gullible will do??!!

Peter,

some people need pads that will take abuse and as such buy sets with an appropriate compound. These tend to be more expensive.

GaryCat,

These pads are perfectly operational for ordinary use but would need to be changed for serious fast road driving and would be ineffective after a few laps of a track. HTH.

Cheers. I ordered some Ferodo DS2500s last week anyway but it's interesting to see pads so cheap that appear to be a reasonble replacement for Subaru's own.

Er, no they don't.

All cars PRE 1999 do not have to have R90 approved brake pads.

Bought a set of these via their website a couple of months back (£37 plus postage...). Only done about 1000 miles so far but they seem fine - no brake fade but not pushed them particularly hard. As with most pads, they take a while to bed in. The pad material thickness looks less than other pads I have tried.

Just ordered a spare set at £19 + postage :D Bargain!

Cheers,

Ian.
