Sat Nav

I've currently got a TomTom Go300,with maps of GB and Major Roads of Europe and all current Speed Camera updates on it.
I'm thinking of changing to a Pioneer Avic,Kenwood,Alpine in dash type but the main thing stopping me is i'm not sure whether you can download a speed camera database to them, if so do they come on the cd/dvd supplied with them or is it tough **** and buy a radar detector as well?
Cheers

I'm not aware that any of them at present have the speed camera database included. I know Alpine don't and I'm 99.9% sure none of the others do either.
Have a look at www.alpine-europe.com depends if you want single DIN navi unit INA-N333R or separate navi like NVE-N099P plus flip out screen or can plug it into new IVA-W200Ri which is touch screen double DIN unit with built in DVD player and full speed Ipod connection. The IVA-W200Ri would fit a treat in the Scooby double DIN slot.

Andy.

There is a GPS system out there for you now! with Speedcam tracking

Hi, there is a GPS system out there now, I've got a 2002 scooby with the double din slot and I spent a long time looking - the Kenwood DDX-6027 head unit combined with the Kenwood (Garmin) KNA-G520 navigation system will do exactly what you want. All Kenwood touch screens work with the navigation unit.

The advantage of this particular navigation system over the old ones is that it has a memory card instead of a dvd, you can very easily hook the card up to your computer and download the latest speed camera updates.

I am saving up to get this the only problem is that it costs around £1300 brand new - I've seen the head unit for £669 at http://www.caraudiobargains.co.uk/de...acturers_id=29

and the Kenwood (Garmin) unit for £639 at http://www.caraudiodiscount.com/acat...avigation.html

I've spent the last few days procrastinating at work finding all this out - there dont seem to be any other viable units that would do what we need!!

Cheers

We should have the KNA-G520 in stock from the 22nd of March. As mentioned it is hard disk based and can be updated via SD card.
Being solid state based installation is now easier than DVD based units - the G520 can be mounted at any angle.
Other new products from Kenwood include 2 new double DIN cd receivers with USB inputs on the front.

Hi Simon...
Do you know if there are any differences between the 6027 and 6029 other than the screen ?
Cheers
