Slight off at a tangent...

My software for writing to my CD writer has gone up sh*t creak and won't allow me to write Wav files to CD..

anyone know of some shareware?

JGM,

Realplayer and Windows Media Player both allow snapins to write to your CD writer. You normally need to install the CD Writer drivers as well for the software to communicate with the driver i.e. Adaptec CD creator.

Best program for makin CD's from Wav or mp3 is Nero burning Rom V.5.0, it does MP£ or Wav straight to CD!!

If you need a copy i can send you an original for about a tenna!! RRP is £50 but i can get the version meant to be supplied with a new CD-Recorder:

IF Interested email me: d.hughes@blueyonder.co.uk

Nero is good but has a 2sec gap between mp3's. Fireburner doesn't do that. It can write mixed cd's from seperate mp3's per song without gap. I don't think you can get that gap out of there in Nero (right?? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif )
Fireburner can also copy mp3's, wma's, wav's... directly to audio cd. its a small but very usefull program.
Personally I use it more than Nero.
You can find a shareware version at

Anyone use Audio Catalyst from Xing ? I used to love this.

Thanks very much guys!

Being able to write MP3's rather than having to convert to WAV first would be cool...

Re nero and the dodgy two second gaps.

Once you have specified the files you want to burn, highlight them and check the properties, you will see there is a field for a gap between the tracks, just set it to whatever you want (including zero).

On another note, when playing anything on cd through windows media player 7 or winamp does it insist on putting gaps between tracks ! Most annoying.

If using Macintosh then use Toast or iTunes, or both together, which is what I do, works very well.

'tis on a PC not Mac...

I downloaded the Fireburner just not had just to try and use it yet...
