Nissan Pulsar GTI-r
Got a m8 with a 300bhp pulsar. The problem is he kills my scoob as i only have a uk turbo 2000:cry: Wondering what brake horse i need to beat him:) Is it right that a scoob has to have 60 brake more than a pulsar to beat it? :brickwall
Cheers Darren |
No just a better driver.

BHP= Pub talk.

Cheers Darren Look at the power/torque to weight ratios, and bare in mind that AWD means off line advantage that even some more powerful FWD/RWD cars won't be able to recoup over the 1/4 mile! Ns04 |
Yeah it's in a straight line. He's timed his 0-60 at 4.7 secs. Its pretty quick have to spend a bit more money on the scoob.:)
Cheers for the replays darren |

Lol trust me it's not the driver:) |
to get your uk wagon to hit the mid 4's is going to take a bit of cash.
if i were you, i wouls just enjoy what you have got for now mate and smile knowing that your car isnt not one of the most ugly things on the face of what we call earth lol just out of interest, what has he got dont to his car and what did he time the 0-60 run with, plz dont say stopwatch..... john |
Lol no stopwatch He's got a lap top link to his ECU witch tells him everything, he can time 0-60 runs 0-100, quater mile times. Also got the usual speed, revs, turbo boost. Everything. Lol with u on the looks.
Cheers |
go round the twisties, the gtir's are **** handling understeer like crazy (I used to have a uk red one, think there were only 150 made of them- with suitable mods of course including tarox 6 pots)
|
You could weight save, and just do the usual if the IC allows.
Exhaustand de-cat. there are plenty to be had on here. Then i would say upgrade the pads at least if not the discs. You have to make sure you can stop the car before taking performance further. DS2000, or PADGID, do a search in the technical section for stockist and prices. Then i would probably start with the induction, personly, i would go the uprated element route rather than induction kit. They have been know to kill MAF sensors which i belive can lead to terminal engine faliure in some cases. (im sure i will be corrected on that if im wrong) Then the last easy thing i would be doing is maybe some suspension, i know prodrive springs are available for newage cars, if they supply classics, get some, then you will have a good base motor to play with when money and IC's allow john |
get a fmic and then challenge him to a best of five runs on a hot day quite quickly after each other. By the third run you will probably be beating him (unless he has a fmic as well!) as the heat soak on the gtir is awful, much worse than the scoobs
|
Lol he's getting a fmic fitted tomorrow :( he will then be running 1.2 bar of boost. Will be eben harder then.
Cheers |
basically your fubared then!! Do a challenge series then. Few quarter miles, and a few timed laps around a track somewhere. You should beat him around a track, besides at over 300 bhp he will loose the gearbox at some stage (unless its been uprated!)
|
my mate too has a pulsar. give up u wont beast him they are seriously quick. I was in car when my mate raced a boxster s up to 160mph cant see ur scoob getting there as the boxster driver could believe it as he overtook him
|
the gearing on a pulsars standard box wouldnt allow it to get to 160.
they were quick in there day, but in standard form compared to that of a current jap performance car, its miles behind in all aspects, handling, engine technology, the usual jap performance car really. plus, there even uglier than the bugeye. last year at York, i raced one down the strip and tore in a new arse hole (pardon the french). gets back up to the group line up, he comes across to find out what i had done to mine. Nothing, its a standard WRX PPP just out the show room. He claimed his was running 320+bhp with 280ft/lb. My reply, oh right, then i got a phone call thankfully.... something amiss there then.... john |
On the York outer-ringroad last Sunday I left one real easy , I had followed him for about 2 miles , Whan he got to a dual carrageway he booted it >>> BUT:D did him no good, :)
|
i do believe you were at york that day as well alan, i think you were talking to martin, was having a good look at both your cars....
john |
just to add I was in a slow bugeye:Suspiciou
|
LoL John , yep I was there,

im thinking of going, but im driving to London on the friday, then home saturday, its gonna be a big hit in terms of miles on a car that doesnt like its onw engine.... boy am i worried. Im still using 1ltr of oil every 2 weeks...
But hey, Subaru claim thats just normal lol may see you there mate john |
