Selling Advice please

I've been trying to sell my Puma (various free internet sites, local paper 2 weeks and post office window). The last time in the local paper it was very cheap. I have not had a single call.
I was wondering if it would be worth putting it in the autotrader. Its £45 for 3 weeks on the net and 2 weeks in the mag or £16 for 2 weeks on the net only. I'm tempted by the net only offer. (I called someone selling one similar to mine in the autotrader, with a higher price, it had not sold after 2 weeks)

Is it just that cars are'nt selling at this time of year or what?

What's the details of the puma? see if everyone thinks its fair, might be worth a try.

When I last advertised on autotrader I found most of the callers had seen the car on the website not in the mag.

I wonder how many people actually buy the mag? Its £2.20 and you can see anything that might interest you in a 2 minute thumb through in WHS.

I was asking £2,500 for a '97 grey 1.7 with 66k. Two of the service intervals were late by 5months (before I bought it) but not over the miles. I've got all the old mots.
I thought that was more than a fair price.

Sounds fair ye.

Could it be that the puma's just aren't selling.

What I would say is if you really want rid of it for the sake of 500 quid go down to £1995 and stick it on the website, that means when folk search for car under 2k it will appear, for that kinda money someone will take it.

lots of people buy the mag, and, having sold about 15 cars in the past 5 years only 3 have been as a result of internet ads.

Often people buy the mag to take with them. Also the search on the web only shows based on your search criteria.
Some people don't know what they want so buy the mag to get idea's, you can't search by sports casr etc. on the web. You have to know what you want.

you could always try ebay, you're car will reach a big audience.

i've sold bought and sold 2 cars via ebay, all transactions with cash.

just don't accept offers via western union money transfer from people in nigeria............... ;)

Stick it on the Autotrader website. National coverage and not too expensive.
