High mileage STI's ...
All.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-SUBARU-IM...QQcmdZViewItem What are the problems with purchasing such a vehicle? Seems like a bargain if high milers are OK ... Apologies in advance to all the "old timers" who may well point me to previous posts on this subject!! TX. |
Wow that is an immense amount of miles for a car that age!
|
Thats about £17,000 of fuel :)
|
I see he also states 6 months warranty left - don't think so with 114K miles on it.

Personally i dont think mileage is much of a factor with modern day engines nowadays... If its been properly serviced (FSH) on schedule then it should be ok if there are no apparent faults upon a test drive....
Raf. p.s. may have extended warrenty or 3rd party warrenty.....? |

Most of those miles will have been done by joyriders then! ;) :D Personally, I wouldn't buy a performance car with those miles on it. It may well sail past the 150k mark in which case you'll have 37k miles with it, but it may need a rebuild before then. I seem to recall David from API engines (who knows his Scooby engines) commenting on here that if you get x milage out of an engine before a rebuild you shouldn't consider yourself hard done by. I don't recall what that figure was, but I don't think it was greater than 150k miles. I'd imagine that a good few of the consumables will need replacing if they've not already been done, eg. turbo, clutch etc... Ns04 |
