To Tint, Or not to tint.......
I'm picking up my MY06 Obsidian Black WRX on March 1st, now the big question is do I tint the windows or not? If I was to I wouldn't be going for anything too extreme, probably just 50% all round.
What do people think? Does anyone have any pics of black with different tints? Much appreciated guys, Cheers Alan |
hell yes , go for it,, tinted windows and anthracite wheels on a black MY06, total stealth mobile!

Yeah and paint you're skin black, wear a black polo neck with a big gold chain and wear black shades............
Only kidding, but yeah i would go for it. Get them as dark as possible. |
Just make sure if you do it you do all the windows to the same extent. I hate seeing dark rear windows and light fronts, looks naff.

just the rear sides and back tinted would look nice......

While we're on the subject, anyone know of a decent, cheapish place to do tints for cash around Suffolk/Norfolk (Lowestoft/Yarmouth in particular)?
BTW tints on the back and nothing on the front looks lame even if it is totally legal. Light smoke on the front and medium or dark smoke on the back is the way to go IMHO. If you get the rear dark enough it gives the impression that light smokes on the front are darker than they really are. |
For sure get it done . .As long as the front is not too dark should be fine . .But have the fading effect i.e darker at back than front . .Bandit glass is also a great idea!:norty:

Thanks for your thoughts guys, since writing the origi9nal post i have heard that insurance will practically bum you if you have them on the front and happen to have an accident, they'll refuse to pay out using teh excuse of your vision was impaired by the tints. Scary stuff.
My only worry was getting the £30 fine from the police and having to removed the fronts, but there are obviously bigger concerns. |

My car had darker tints and I never got pulled but I was always nervous if there was a police car around. Oh and if you do get them make sure your reversing lights are bright as hell otherwise you'll be revesing blind at night! Turning into dark roads at night is also interesting if there are no or few street lights |
