Poxy parking ticket

Right lets keep this simple.

1 road, one side houses and the other a large grass area known as Horsell Moor.
Mum lives in one of the houses and there's controled parking on the house side of the road and a yellow line on the moor side.

Can't park without a ticket between 10am-11.30am.

i was helping her pack (house moving) and left the van with all 4 wheels on the grass moor as she didn't have any parking tickets.

Looked out the window 15 mins later and saw the ticket

It's a code 82 that i understand as being a "don't park on a path" code.

I really want to fight this but am i going to lose a great battle.

The way i see it is that i parked on common land and none of my van was on the road/parking bay/path. does the parking shop have the right to isure a ticket?

Help is going to be great.

Thanks Adam

I'm not an expert but...

As I understand it they can't do you for it unless it's parked fully or partially on the carriageway or the pavement/footpath.

I s'pose it could depend on what by-laws control access to the moor.

Good luck. I hate parking tickets, I have a colleague who's forever getting them and asking advice ad-infinitum from the rest of us.

say it was overheating and wouldn't start. You had move onto the pavement to make a quick collection, but when you couldn't get it srated you had to wait

Just tell them you're a traveller and were waiting for your caravan, your family's 47 caravans, transit vans, scruffy kids, quad bikes, mongrels, old washing machines, etc. They'll let you off then

Even if you don't win it, you can get several months of debate and man hours out of them. Get a letter of appeal off ASAP to put the fine on pause and just keep appealing. I had a ticket running in london for 11 months...... Paid it in the end, but cost them a lot more than sixty quid.......

already appealed once, maybe it's time for another leter then.

Or i could try the traveller option ;)

Ticket was made on 30/11/05 so already given myself nearly 3 months :D

Yeah, that's the best you can hope for. Eventually they'll just send you a final letter saying enough of the games!

Had dozens over the years in London, and it would depend on my current mood as to how I handled them!

Guildford in a pain in the arse for tickets! i have had 3 in the last 6 years. i don't even work there!!

one was parking a foot over the white line.
One was for being 15 mins late
and the latest one was for parking in the wrong zone...

Oh well! it's only 30quid i guess. better then points!!
