Tyre Pressures ???

Any chance of some advice on pressures to run, i.e. when I was doing trackdays on bikes, we always ran a few psi lower than normal due to the temps the tyres got to and therefore compensated for the lowered pressures and offered better grip.

All the comments re car trackdays is to increase the psi, so I'm now very confused. Have my first car trackday on Sat, so any thoughts welcomed.

You will get conflicting inputs and to some extent the pressure depend on tyre, conditions, circuit and ultimately your ability.

Would suggest

Set pressures to Fast(loaded) pressures in handbook

Increase pressures by 2 PSI front and rear incrementally ( I find plus 2-4 psi cold works well) however you may want to try a few more 2 PSI to see if you prefer it or not. For circuit driver training go plus 4-6 PSI to save the shoulders.

With reference to wet I always go back to normal road pressures and have dropped up to 6 PSI on cold days to try and get more feel and temperture in the tyre especially with tyres with stiff tyre walls and track specials.
