Admiral! Trying to rip me off!!

Took a policy with admiral a bit ago over t'internet, typed in my proper name all the way through 'James' as opposed to 'Jim' I got my certificate of insurance through and it showed Jim for some god forsaken reason, so i called them up, oh just write to us, it will be fine. Got a letter yesterday, thanks for the alteration to your cover please note we will now kindly rob you and take £15 out of your credit card account!!!!!!

what the fcuk!! im getting charged for their error!, and even if it was somehow my error, £15 to change your name from 3letters to 5!!

I shall be phoning them up tonight and having serious words!

welcome to the world of admin fees.

personally I wouldnt use admiral for anything ever again.

lets just hope you never need to claim or use their team of solicitors :(

Called them up...well phoned china or where ever she was, some place where they pay people bugga all to do a call centre at the other side of the world.
Basically she just kept repeating the policy of admin fees which really rattled my cage! so in the end i just decided to take it on the chin. Thinkin on getting a new car anyway, so might fook off to another company:hjtwofing , as they're w@nk.

Thing is, while i was on the phone to them, they tried it on AGAAIN!!!!

confirm your home number please..said my home number, and i forgot that i'd given them my mobile number, so she's like "oh u have home number....I shall change 4 u" i nearly said yeah ok then, but then i thought, the robbing b@stards were at it again, if i'd have changed it they would have charged me another £15!!!!! cheeky gits! they'll try owt to get more money out of you, then at the end she tried selling me break down cover!    so I put the phone down!

A lot of the cheaper direct/internet companies love doing this.
Quote you a cheap price, then make lots if you make any changes, once you are stuck in a contract.

I know of one big internet company who charge £1 per minute to speak to their claims department, and they aren't quick phone calls!!!!

might have to give u a call...are u working this weekend? n what times u open?

(sorry to go off subject for a second)

Moley 15 February 2006 11:11 PM

Am not in this weekend, am normally in mon-fri 9-6.

Can e-mail me your details (as much info as you can think of) to garymoulson@aol.com.

(Not 100% if i will be back in work tomorrow, am a poorly boy at the mo)

Got a letter through the post from Admiral today.

We are sorry that you disagree with our admin charge for the new printed forms, and that you feel this charge shouldnt be made, but all insurance companies charge this (or something to that effect).

We are happy to announce that we are willing to waive the charge of £20

Wooohoooo...cant believe i got my money back, amazing what an earful and a strong worded letter can do, especially wen u say "i shall take this matter into consideration when renewal time comes round".

Quality! didnt think i had a chance of a refund. But I am right, they shouldnt charge this when its their error.

Seems that Admiral are actually ok then ..............

Which is good as they are behind the Bell Direct Insurance being pushed at the moment!

Just be careful at the end of your policy, as they renew it on the same credit card on thier renewal quote if you don't write to them and tell them otherwise
