Wireless link to server

I currently have a wireless link to my server but want to know if there a piece of kit I can use instead of the wireless NIC. I would prefer, if possible to connect the 10/100 NICs in the server to a wireless AP and have authentication between that and my wireless netgear router. At the moment I have to boot the server up and login before the wireless NIC kicks in.

Unless of couse there's a service I could run to automate it prior to login.

How about an access point (a gaming adapter does the same thing ish) running in client or bridge mode? The ap can then handle the encryption settings leaving the server to connect to the ap via a wired nic.

Oops, there I go not really reading the question properly :p

what kind of server (operating system)

I suspect its not a server, and you arent running the necessary components as services.

Just buy a wireless access point or switch with wireless built in whatever you want to call it.

You need a wireless bridge, sometimes called wireless gaming bridges

Cheers Guys,

I'm guessing the reason why the server is not seen until I log in is because the wireless adapter runs it's own software, in this case, Netgear. Is there a way to configure and use the WG511T via windows so it starts the service like a standard NIC.

Had a quick look on the Netgear site but couldn't find anything.
