Shock horror! I almost* agree with PSL...

Re PSLewis' recently vaped hunting thread.

Pete, you make a valid point but, as usual, screw it up with stupid posturing , sweeping assumptions and rhetoric.

Hunt followers come from all walks of life, not just the upper classes, hatever they may be. If you have the money and the inclination then you can go participate in the butchering of one of our indigenous wild creatures. And I believe that it is quite expensive, so it's probably more likely that Tony's chavvy nouveau riche mates will be able to afford it, most of the real gentry being skint and taxed to death anyway.

Yes, hunting is abhorrent, in my opinion anyway. But the problems we have now are nothing to do with class or disregard of the law. The act was pushed through undemocratically and was so riddled with loopholes and ambiguities that those who want to hunt were always going to find a way around it.
New Labour - fudging issues and passing half-assed laws to the end...

Well now you know what it is like to have an authority figure controlling your life and what you can and can't do.

Much like the middle classes and Labour are doing to people who enjoy hunting.

No Pete - they were appalling - a sense of taste rather than censorship. If you want to find this stuff on the Internet, then fine, but it doesn't mean it will be allowed to be posted on SN. It wasn't me who deleted the thread, but for the record, if I'd seen it first I would have done the same.

Locking this thread as there is new one running now.
