ummm, get a good uprated panel filter. IMO

Green or something like that.

The Powertec kits are fantastic on the Scoobs! If you look at the latest ad in Banzai, check out how many Subaru specialists now stock and recommend these kits.

Induction Kits *can* kill your MAF
Go for a panel filter as said previous

Stainless steel mesh filters can't filter a house brick and will suck crap into the engine.
Just because a company sell's them does not make them any good, they are a business after all.

I remember removing mine(Blitz SUS) and find all sorts of crud in the intake pipe.
No wonder it killed 2 MAF's.

As mentioned standard airbox is good enough and won't draw hotair in from the engine bay. Decent panel filter such as a Green, K&N, STi will do you.
If you need more air, remove the resonator from the inner wing.

Turbulent air is a major factor in MAF sensor damage - if you look at the airflow path through a Blitz filter and adapter plate, you will see why.

Regarding filtration, Powertec mesh is far far finer than other stainless steel mesh induction kits on the market, so efficiency is greatly improved.
