dvd writers
can you buy SATA dvd writers, for some reason my computer wont recognise my ide drives and since i only use it for my writer i was wondering if i can buy a dual layer SAT drive from any where ???

after i put that up i staring a better search and found that one, but i need a black one. but at least i now know you can get them :D

Another option would be to fit an IDE controller card to one of your PCI slots.
Expect to pay about £20 for the card, allowing connection of multiple DIE devices. This would give you the flexibility to buy whatever DVD writer you please (in whatever colour) Paul PS The Plextor burner is a good bit of kit should you decide on the SATA route. |

BTW they are out of stock on that 1 @ the mo ( so it says ) A IDE controller / Pioneer 110 is the way i'd go TBH , V.good drive & cheaper :) |
gonna see if i can get a nice SATA dual layer from a shop tomorrow, i have an IDE controller but all my pci slots are taken care off !!
