94 import WRX

Hey guys could some one please tell me wt sections there are in the exhaust system of a import WRX MY94 from the turbo back?

I assume when changing exhaust components it is still best to iliminate back pressure fro the turbo exit first, Hence the downpipe (cat) first.

From turbo, downpipe (cat) then centre section (cat) and finally backbox.

The biggest gain is made by removing the cat in the downpipe, it allows
the turbo to spool up quicker and easier and also allows the engine to
rev more freely.

All the early wrxs iv worked on havent had cats, the centre section does have a box at thefront that looks like a cat, but this is just a resanator box.

I have had two jdm's clasic WRX's both MY94.

On both of mine there was no centre CAT on the contrary, there was not even a "centre section" After the CAT downpipe, or as mine is now open neck 3" de-cat downpipe, my Apexi system goes straight out of the back, 2 parts only (incl dowpipe)

so if i needed to fit a center cat on a classic sti what car would i get one from? or is it a matter of cutting out and welding any old cat in?

Is it just for the mot, that you want a cat fitted? if so your better off just fitting the down pipe cat. If you havent got one and your anywhere near colchester your more than welcome to borrow mine.
