Strange man in Blue boiler suit, Sussex services

We had our monthly West Sussex meet at Pease Pottage services on Sunday.
As we were preparing to leave a few of us spotted a white RA in another part of the car park.
There was a strange man bobbing about in blue overalls. He was under the bonnet, then inside the car, then back under the bonnet

It wasn't untill I was half way over to say Hello that I realised it was Andy F!!!! :D Explains allot ;)

Hope Jay and the others were happy with the mapping :)

Nice to see some familiar faces again :D Lovely weather you have down there too !

ScoobyDuck 06 February 2006 11:03 PM

Likewise Andy :D

hope you enjoyed the 'sunny south' ;)

:D

Andy got a few strange looks as he changed into his very bright blue overalls, in a carpark at Gatwick South terminal :D

Mainly from me, lol

If I'd known you were coming down I'd have arranged snow to make you feel at home :)

Think Justin might have taken issue with that though :D

Good to see you again and Justin. (your old lump is almost ready to be reborn) ;)

They're not THAT bright, are they ? :D

BTW a 2.5 on RA gearing is :D :D only really need 3rd, 4th and 5th gears......and ideally 6th, 7th and 8th ;)

Andy, I half expected a white X on the back LOL :D

At brands yesterday change down to 4th for clearways, into 5th on the start of the main staight, keep it in 5th through paddock, down to 3rd for Druids. On the main straight got to 6k5rpm before bottling it and giving myself a large braking window :D

Stupid gearing but immensely fun :thumb:

Iain, I take it there wasn't forged pistons in there, were there? forgot to look

Andy.F 08 February 2006 10:15 AM

The clutch survived then ?

Jay m A 08 February 2006 11:28 AM

Yes, only slipped once when I changed too early from 4th

Did at least 70 laps, no issues apart from missfire in top - fuel surge on 1/3rd tank exiting Clearways.

Hit 60 knock but only the once (when it missfired) :(

Andy.F 08 February 2006 06:38 PM

70 laps  kinell ..... If you plan on regular track use in the summer I'd recommend fitting an oil cooler.
Also, they do actually det when you get fuel surge so worthwhile keeping it over the 1/2 whenever possible.

Dyney 08 February 2006 08:42 PM

Errrr.....forged pistons.....didn't look TBH I expect Mike would have noticed if there were.
Heads are on now so I don't think Mike would like me pulling apart now ;)

I find 4th, 5th and 6th are all I need on the 6psd for everything day to day. Apart from junctions and then I'm back in top pretty quickly anyway ;)
