Disposing of an old sunbed...
 

Sorry to post something completely bizarre and off-topic, but I've seen other people ask weird questions on here and get good suggestions, and I'm not sure who else to ask?!

When we moved into our new house, the owners left an old sunbed in the shed, which the woman was supposedly going to come back for once she'd settled into her new house (they'd split up). Of course, she never came back for it and doesn't answer our texts and it's now getting on my nerves.

But, what's the best way to get rid of it? I don't think anyone would buy it as it's pretty tatty and probably not very safe in terms of skin cancer (!) but it's big and weighs an absolute tonne! Would a scrap metal dealer take it, or the council or what? I'm guessing there's probably guidelines on how they're to be disposed of... I can't even move it more than about an inch on my own!

Anyone else had to get rid of an unwanted sunbed :confused:

why would there be recommended disposal methods? It is only light tubes and metal. Take it to the tip or wait for thr gypos to come round

there are certain restrictions with regard to the disposal of UVA tubes, best speak to you local council, the rest of it can be scrapped easily.

What is the make of the bed out of curiosity, you may be suprised but it may be worth some money.

It's a "House of Robin" 'Supertan' model with 20 tubes. There's an old-fashioned counter which is reading about 1100 hours!
