Advice wanted: repairing/breaking Impreza
Dear Scoobynetters,
I am sorry to say I have crash my 98/R UK Impreza 2.0 turbo. I am wondering if you can give me some advice on the possibility of repairing said car cheaply (ie second hand parts etc) or its scrap/breaking value, in case the insurers were to offer it back to me at a cheap price (what might I expect/ what is worth considering?). Please note that this vehicle is not for sale (yet). There are some pics attached but the damage is as follows: - bumper and lamps - drivers wing - drivers door, including mirror and window glass - front grille and radiator pushed in which has cracked the plastic cam belt cover but the engine still runs (I stopped it after a few seconds as a precaution given cambelt cover damage) - bodyshop says the A pillar is damaged where the door hinges so I don't know how difficult that is to put right... - plastic under tray beneath engine compartment is broken/cracked but basically the car slid over bushes and saplings which cushioned it from a worse impact and brought the vehicle to a stop relatively gently - the car has not been on a jig but the bodyshop said that its quite possible the alignment was not badly damaged given the bushes cushioning impact... would need to drive/check further to be certain... What do you experts think?
