Just on this topic has anyone seen that RAC Trackstar are now doing a deal or £23 per month all in... no purchase price etc...

Had a chat with RAC, the £23 pcm price quoted is for the Trackstar service paid for over three years (interest free). If you change you car within the 3 year period you have to re-register.

By the way, there is also the Asset Assured evice which is Thatcham recognised and is (approximately) £449 installed. Best of all it is absolutely SUBSCRIPTION FREE which ought to save you at least £120 or more a year, and in 8 weeks or so the customer website will be up and running so you can even see where your own car is without ringing the control centre (for instance if your other half is out somewhere in it (-: ). It is not an auto-signalling device though, which in my opinion is good although some may disagree, but believe me, auto-signalling devices can be a pain to use on a daily basis, plus with all that extra wiring to find and follow, they are easy to find in the vehicle and disable. The unit itself is relatively small, has battery backup, and is water resistant so it may also be used on motorcycles.

Just thought I'd let you know

i know data trak use radio to send there signals and someone like navtrak use the telephone gsm sgnal ,which one would be more robust-e.g. best signal reception and less of chance for thieves to jam or interupt the signal?

yhe chod 07 November 2001 09:04 PM

i think i will go for the tracker horizon unit because it has gps tracking and 52 police force that can recieve the radio signals transmitted from the unit in the car .see www.thankstotracker.com.ANYONE ELSE GOT THIS UNIT?
