Setting up home network ?

Hello

I am wanting to set up a home network between 1 laptop & 1 desktop.

They are both setup wireless.

What would be the best way forward ??

Thanks

Hello

Just buy a wireless router/modem and you are done. That simple.

Steve,

I want to be able to file share between them ??

Network Wizard cant do it as i require a floppy to save settings on which is fine but i cant use the floppy on the laptop

just choose not to use a floppy at the end of the wizard and finish manually. then run the wizard on the other machine and use the same workgroup name.
Should be that easy. remember to right click the drives / folders that you want to share and choose sharing, enable sharing and the rest. bobs ur uncle

It wont let me see the other computer

I have shared a file on the desktop, so how do i access it with the laptop ??

Both firewalls have to be set to allow connections from the other machine, also you probably can't see the files on each desktop. Will have to set up each drive for network sharing & drag the file onto that drive.
