What is it with Subarus and water (Subaru In A Loch )? :cuckoo:

Tragic anyway :(

Pretty tragic. Still seems a bit odd to swim out to a car in water? Could he really have done anything? :(

Lets just hope the car didnt go above 30mph while rolling into or under the water, otherwise the police are bound to spend time recording the 'crime' and serving notice.

But seriously, its amazing what silly and dangerous things we do when something unexpected like that happens, probably just trying to save themselves money by not getting someone to do it and also under the delution that they would somehow get it started or repaired easily.

Ive done stupid things like this on a much smaller scale when i was young, its a pity that someone has lost there life instead of learned a lesson that most people get away with.

Its even dafter than people losing their lives trying to rescue dogs from lakes and canals.

Pulled him out after an hour and a half and tried to revive him but was pronounced dead at the hospital!!!

No **** he was dead after being in the loch for an hour and a half, man he must have some lungs if he was expected to survive that long under water.

also why did his mate not pull him out if he was tied to a rope????

The mind boggles it really does.

how exactly was he going to lift/pull a car that weighs over 1200kg out of a Loch? :cuckoo: shame, he could have been our next prime minister

Poor guy; you can just imagine him swimming out and all the onlookers shouting "SIAL" at him... :(

It's been well established that some people who appear to be dead after some considerable time under water can be successfully revived. A number of children who have slipped under the ice on frozen lakes have been revived in this way. I personally know of someone who was caught under fast flowing water for 50 minutes whilst canyoning and survived.

So not so stupid after all :rolleyes:

Am I the only person who thinks this story doesn't quite ring true, for example:

Yeah I mean that happens all the time to me! Also, if it just rolled into the water from a standstill, surely it would be at the edge of the loch so you wouldn't need to swim out to it?

Refers to Subaru in a lake, a photo that newbies will post from time to time saying 'have you seen this? it's dead funny'.

Probably because only a doctor can pronounce somebody dead, the paramedic crews can't in general. Not funny really....

That is so tragic. I don't think that putting your foot on the car to tie a lace would push it into the loch though!

Perhaps the friend couldn't pull him out with the rope because he was too heavy? If it was really cold and wet it does make things heavier.

No matter what, this is really sad.

Maybe his shoes were made out of dark matter and he was actually a very strong giant with big feet? :confused:
