Obvious really, otherwise there would be no F1 drivers left. I like the bit that says

braked when necessary
, well you would wouldn't you ;)

chippy17 27 January 2006 01:16 PM

I wasn't aware a Boxster was capable of such speed!

Downhill and late for the hairdressers

Quote "traffic officer calculated that the Porsche was travelling at up to 149.9 mph "
So how did he calculate that ??

Good result though, nice to see a judge with common sense ! Lets hope we get a few more that can see a situation for what it is !

Boxter I had (legal reasons: not 'I' as in 'me' but 'I' as in 'someone I don't know at all') wouldn't do more than about 140, but it wasn't an 'S'...

Regretably Magistrates can't set precedent AFAIK, even though this was a qualified magistrate as opposed to a panel of Lay magistrates.

Presumably he was still convicted of speeding though and would most certainly have been looking at a ban....just not for dangerous driving?

I love that road:luvlove: THink Top gear have filmed on it.

The folks live on the Island and I always get some headspace by heading off along the south coast road. Best at this time of the years without all the groggles.

He's still got to be tried for 'driving at excess speed' so he hasn't exactly got away with it yet.

..yet again media trying to whip everyone into a feeding frenzy with half a story...
