Car shuts off WHILE MOVING!!!!???

Hey guys, I was out tonight driving when I found my car to shut off while moving !!! It doesnt do this just randomly, I can get it to do it every time. If I go on the brakes and slow down and put my clutch in, the revs drop then shuts off, steering locks up, abs blah blah warning lights all come on !?!! http://forums.rexnet.co.nz/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif any one got ideas whats wrong?

THANKS!!!!

Check your battery with a voltmeter. It could be that your battery has gone, so while braking and engaging extra electronics to work your taking more juice than the battery can handle so it just turns off.

IF this is a new age car with the computerised alternator, that could be your problem, you will get the abs light, engine management light, battery warning light and brake warning light (!) come up (i had this problem when my alternator died though it didnt do it on request, it just died when there was no more power in the battery) though as stated, your battery could also be a part of the problem.

Hey there guys, thx for the input. The car is 98 v5 STI.
I recently had my AFM replaced bcoz car was sick and it fixed it so Im thinking its not the AFM as when running it runs fine. Could it be the battery as its hard to start now ? but its very random when doing this. I can get it to shut off easy but very hard to start it. and after few goes it starts with out hassle for some reason????
