clarification needed mate - are you saying the crystal grey mettallic that you bought looks like odsidon black or that the car i have pictured looks like obsidon black.

Elmer Fudpucker 22 January 2006 08:21 PM

I'm pretty sure the car in that pic has been re-sprayed using a BMW colour iirc

Just had a look on the standox web site a paint company we use 86f code comes out as blue steel metalic 1999 to 2000 and cool grey colour comes out as cool grey opal metalic 1997 to 1999 with a colour code of 55d go to any big bodyshop supplier with these codes ,they should show you a colour chit for both which will give you a better idea of the colour your after.:thumb:

anyone know if this car has any additional bodykit bits?

subaru should have got that snapper to do their pics, as theirs don't do it justice if this is what it looks like in the flesh:eek:

48w is the crystal grey on 05 scoobs, like mine. is great, but doesn't look as "grey" as that

DonnieDarko 24 January 2006 05:48 PM

Can the moderators please lock this thread?, surely this dumbass could look under his "bonnet" and see the paint code :D

ryn004 24 January 2006 05:53 PM

What you can do is go to a paint shop and ask them to give you the subaru list of color samples. From there you can match your color with the code.

If you are respraying the car from scratch have you thought about one of the Audi greys ??

There's a very stealty grey Audi which I come across quite regularly........A4 with twin exhausts and quick as sick :D

Looks real close to the USA colour !!

silverwrxnor 27 March 2006 01:50 PM

06 STI USA comes in two grey colors:

Steel gray metallic (paint code?, can anyone supply?)

and

Crystal gray metallic (paint code 48W, Can anyone confirm?)

ref http://www.subaru.com/shop/colors.js...=WRX_STI_SEDAN

Guess gray in US is grey in UK

silverwrxnor 27 March 2006 05:21 PM

Here is the (silver) paint codes for impreza:

Premium silver Metallic 01G
Crystal Grey Metallic 48W
Steel Grey Metallic 26D
