Tyre Pressures!

Hello all.

Just fitted some 18in rims to my UK classic. They are on 215/35/R18 tyres. What tyre pressure would you reccomend I put in the tyres?

Its just for everyday driving, the car doesnt get thrown around the road or a track.

Thanks

Simon :)

42 works well for me .... but I got a roasting for it

Trial and error, do you want ultimate grip and 15mpg?

Or, do you want 38mpg and light steering, sod the grip (it's better than most, anyway) ............ you also get 30,000miles out of your tyres if you vary the pressure to suit the wear pattern.

I've got a classic on standard 16 inch rims and standard sized 205/50/16 tyres. I use 34psi on the front and 32psi on the back and that suits my driving style. The right tyres pressures are the ones that you feel best with, so all I can suggest is experiment with pressures untill you get them to suit your driving style. The Scoob I found is very sensitive to changes in tyre pressure so good luck and hope you get something sorted as well as I have.

Tyre pressures are related to the weight of the car, not the size of the wheels/tyres. Use the same pressures you did with the previous wheels.

I run 34 on the front and 32 on the back (18").
