Dogs, Weird
Why is it that when the dog has done a poo, she insists on doing a bit of a burnout on the grass ?
Any other strange dog (or cat) behaviour ? |
mine has to run around in circles barking first ??
dunno why, has done it since he was a pup.. |
They do it to cover up their mess. They're trying to be considerate and tidy.
Although, in reality, it means that you don't see the turd you've just stepped ;) :D |
Scoob does both the above :cuckoo:
|
LOL
What exactly do you mean by burnout? |
something about covering their tracks IIRC....
Although inthe evenings if mine does anything in the back yard he comes charging into the house at warp speed and charges around the dining room into the living room back into the dining room round the table etc about 5 times over. then hes knackered and I know I dont need to walk him that night ;) |
running round and round in a tightly-banked circle or figure of eight at 10/10ths, tongue lolling out with a big grin - as our lab does.
i'd say it was a pleasure of relief thing ... |
:D
If its the running around, I'd say thats a feel good thing :) If its the kicking out with back legs thing, I seem to recall thats actually to spread the scent, not to hide it. Cats are different though. |
Sort of locks from the front paws and rakes the ground with the back, obviously there is no smoke and the 60ft time is rubbish.
|
It's trying to flick it's sh*t at you. Your dog hates you. We all hate you. :lol1:
|
My dog does'nt. Once he's dropped his 2kgs worth he fecks off at 100mph. You wonder why until you get downwind - then you realise.:D
|

Does she 'burnout on the carpet too sometimes? You know, 'get the lipstick out' :lol1: Oh dam. I forgot, only boy dogs can do that :( |

I know what you mean about the arse on the ground 'worms' thing, my mum had a Chihuahua that did it, it was hillarious, going round in circles on the carpet using only front drive, rear legs akimbo, ringpiece in full contact with the axminster, we always used to do the theme from the Magic Roundabout when he did it, however the post poo burnout and subsequent joyful antics can only be accompanied by 'I feel good' by the Reverend James Brown.
|
We have a schnauzer and he gets an errection before having a poo:nono:
|
Sounds like the log is stimulating the little fellas prostate.
Do dogs have a prostate ? Nipper the Chihuahua used to get the lipstick out when my mum picked him up, no one else, if me or my bro went near he he went mental, no way could we pick him up, he would bark, bite and salivate, I reckon in his little dog language he was saying 'Gerroff o me, you fat a f*ckin gringo homo, you toucha may ding a ling and I bite you, this my woman and dont you a forget it' |
after curling one down, the dog has to put his nose 0.00000000001 mm away from it and has a good sniff. :cuckoo: marvelous:lol1:
|
Just add to this, (check the time), ours was clattering round downstairs (its 4.56) and got let out, checks its bowl then has a good mooch round the garden, no sign of any bodily functions,I reckon its just bored cos it sleeps all day.
