Anyone on here going over to the San Remo rally the week after next ??? And if so fancy arranging to meet up over there (there's only one decent english bar in san remo, so easy to meet) ??

We are going on the Tuesday, and going to the shakedown on the Wednesday. Then up in the mountains again from Friday onwards watching the rally.

Cheers,

G

Rawsy,

I've been in that pophouse, during San Remo 2 years ago.

They have Union Jack flags on the wall which are prime for removing and using to help support Burns/McRae/Higgnis etc. out on the stages.

Do you know if Subaru WRC shaped car covers are easy to get hold of anywhere?

rawsy 06 October 2000 08:12 PM

Paul N P - I do believe there is a hotel in san remo which supply car covers which exactly fit the scooby. Unfortunately you have to spend the whole night in the english pophouse sampling the local stuff before you are entitled to take one. Are you thinking of getting one this year ??????

There's also an italian fella there with a cigarette hole in his leather jacket, do you know anything about this ???

Rawsy,

Enjoy your trip to san remo - just remember don't drink too much!
You know you forget half the stuff you get up to when you've had too much. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif

Beware of kebabs and taxi drivers.

If you do happen to see a Scooby cover going cheap remember me, with no garage http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Cheers

Hogster, don't worry about the cash! Rawsy will be looking after U (1st time for everything gadge)

Last time there, Rawsy managed to acquire one FOC (buckshee) cover off the then Italian rally champion's Scooby WRC (Navarra, I think?).

Don't blame Rawsy though, blame the sauce, but also who would park a WRC on the street with a smart cover on it? We Brits love our Scooby battle trophies.....if you harass Rawsy he may admit to more?!

Next rally Hogster, get your arse over there with us! Absolute scream...guaranteed. Plus the rally is crazy. Bunch of northern idiots together!

Last time we were there Mark Higgins bought us a few pints and Rawsy gobbled a few of the pissed Prodrive mechanics.

Careful Paul,

*Gobbling a few of the Prodrive mechanics* could be mis-interpreted! lol!!

I wanted to go to San Remo Rally this year but unfortunately can't make it. I had to pass up this opportunity last year too but I did meet Nicky Grist there in '98 when they were still with Subaru and got him to sign my copy of Colin McRae rally!! Maybe next year, are you guys driving down??

Regards,
Nito

Paul,

Cheers for the low down on Rawsy - there's more to him than meets the eye, "gobbling" indeed http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif.

Enjoy San Remo (i hope it is prepared for you two)

Cheers

Hogster

PS Are you the madman from London who set Rawsy's brakes on fire???

rawsy 08 October 2000 09:38 PM

Hogster - Yep, Paul is the guy who set my brakes on fire, and he still owes me for that. He didn't realise how fast my scoob was compared to his, and obviously had to brake much harder.

As for "gobbling" the Prodrive lads, I think you need to ask Paul about his french bum-chums whom he regularly meets at rallies in europe. Much gobbling there in the back of their big blue van !!

Paul- Have you contacted Pasqaul yet, as he is desperate to hear from you ??????

Sorry Rawsy, it was down to naff 2 pot calipers on your heap of a car..

Drive 'em properly mate and they catch fire, that's the way it works....back to school northern boy!

Had to upgrade to Prodrive Alcon recently after I trashed 2 sets of standard MY99 front discs in 9 months. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
