Visit to Boyd Coddingtons in the USA
 

Whilst in the USA last month we had chance to visit Boyd Coddingtons workshop. I am not huge fan of hotrods etc but I do like the program on Discovery.

Yeah we see most of them but they were busy working away, I met Dwayne, in real life he has the same short tempered attitude and is about 5ft2' :)

If only i'd known that you could just turn up, i was out there in April last year, i emailed boyd weeks before we left home, but i never heard back.... i'd have been in heaven in that place......

Yep thats all we did.

The red part is the public area, they have a shop etc but the workshop is out of bounds.

I guess they must get lots of ' I love Boyds, coming to see you ' type emails, next time you go just drive down there :)

We used the last few hours before flying out of LAX to visit them as we were in LA for the D1.

Well if Dwayne is as much of a pillock in the real world as he appears on TV then the same can probably be said about Boyd. Nice cars, but Boyd just comes across as a complete prick.

I must admit he has to be a bit of prick, they seem to go through employees faster than a place I used to work for (and they were well dodgy).

And having your wife and ex-wife working in the same building? Even if they did get along (which they don't), that's just plain weird :cuckoo:

Well I would certainly love to visit that place. I am not so bothered about all the personal relationships etc but just the thought of seeing a workshop like that and the quality of the work they do would keep my interest going.

You lucky git, I would love to spend a bit of time there. I love hotrods and some of the stuff the do is pure porn on wheels, shame they do not update their web site with the work the do.
