Samco vs Perrin intake?
I need to replace my rather tired turbo inlet pipe on my STI 5 and have been looking at the Samco and Perrin versions. The Perrin one is much cheaper but I have seen threads on NASIOC about them collapsing.
Has anyone had any problems with either of these brands or is it matter of you get what you pay for? Cheers |
Hi
I was at the same crossroads a few weeks ago. I however heard a different perspective, it was the Samco one that was the poorer quality so i opted for the perrin one. I contacted them direct in the USA and they took the money from me on 6th December 05, but IM STILL WAITING for the thing to be delivered so check and get them to confirm delivery dates before you hand over the hard earned! I had also seen them cheaper at a couple of other places but minimum order to UK was $500 so be aware of that also and good luck.;) |
Replace it with a OE one?
|
Cheers guys, never even thought of going OE. Am I that much of a mod whore???
|
I'll let you have a shifty at mine when i get it on the road Colin. John got it made up a while ago from Samco with a strong wire moulded inside the piping. F3cker to fit, but it does the job well and a bit larger than the usual Samco too. ;)

Cheers Dave. Shoudn't be too hard to fit with the engine on the floor and the manifold off should it?
|
Nope, but i don't think it's an off the shelf jobby. Better asking John Banks about that. ;)

i still have my nice MRT one in the garage as i aint really tried to sell it :)
