Wheel bearing failure connected to seized track adjuster nut?
 

I seem to have my first wheel barring failure on the rear of my MY99 (73K miles). It seems odd as I would have thought that the front wheel bearings would be more susceptible to failure due to the braking a turning forces, but they seem fine.
I ask this as I had a "fast road tracking" done some 18K miles ago and the service record says "including heating up and removing a seized track adjuster nut on rear and fitting new". Would this put sufficient heat into the hub to loose the grease on the wheel bearing? If this is the case then I might have a discussion with the garage.

the adjuster nut is on the inner middle of the cradle under the diff, so can't see that has any bearing (joke!!) on it.................

Looks likely then it is just a "normal" failure. I was just surprised it is a rear wheel.

this is the most common bearing we do in the workshop.................never found a particular reason................
